Do you ever think about what’s going to happen when we die?
Is there a shore opposing the great divide?
We can spend our lives living like nothing matters
And pray that our fate will coincide

All the things we used to think were bred by our own apathy
We can’t see past the things in our own eyes
The thoughts that carried us to peace are tainted with our ignorance
And truth is so damn hard to find

Growing up I forgot what I used to know
23 years of existence with no satisfaction to show
Some nights I drink and I think of the fate I am destined for
My heart beats for greater things, but my faith is on the floor

All the songs we used to sing, discordant in their harmonies
And lacking all the passion in its words
We scream about the better things, but we are lost in misery
Chasing wind until our legs are sore
I’m living life inside a dream when all I want is honesty
Truth is just so damn hard to find

We feel the love we used to hope
Would keep all of our life afloat
And shiver as it slowly sinks away

These battered dreams and broken wings
Are remnants of angelic things
