I'm never one for sentiment
If life is a movie scene then I am off the script
My Kodak moments never involve me
I’m the one behind the lens who counts to three

These people are having the greatest time
But I prefer to stay inside my mind
And think of all the places I'd rather be
Roughly somewhere between the land and sea

Am I too detached?
I've made myself to be like that
Running away from conversations
I'm a lone Ranger at the space station

I am fine with that
Ninety percent of the time
Small talk sort of freaks me out
And there are too many people around for me to shout

Trading glances across a crowd
You’re far too pretty for me to call you out
And you spend your days talking to other guys
I psyche myself out and claim that I’m too shy

I wonder why I never get to see
My best friends when it’s convenient for me
Sitting in my house gets so old
There’s nothing else for me to do but rock and roll
